Original 'Solo Surf' ~ Lombok Series
The first piece in my Lombok Series is 'Solo Surf', which inspired the whole vibe of the collection. The art is mixed media and painted on canvas paper, size A3.
About this piece...
I took a 7-week trip to Lombok in November to get inspiration, visit my sister and reignite my creative side, after feeling a real lack of creativity back in the UK.
Solo travel is always very special to me and gives me a chance to take time for myself. Lombok provided me with the perfect place to paint, be calm and reconnect with those around me. It was a lovely time, and I curated four pieces of art that I really love, inspired by the things that I really love (coffee culture, surfing and slow travel!)
The colours were inspired by the warmth of the island - everything was always beautifully hazy and warm. The sunsets were stunning too - always speckled with gorgeous pink tones and bright oranges.
I really enjoyed playing with the composition of the neutral backgrounds with the bright pop of the surf suits, too. The surfer girls know how to pick a funky bathing suit or sarong.
I hope you love the pieces as much as I do.
